Is Will Kate’s toyboy?
Although we here at TBW HQ aren’t having a street party in commemoration of the tomorrow’s royal nuptials, we felt we would be remiss if One didn’t mention it and wish the happy couple well.
Diana was a mere twenty years old when she married Prince Charles, while Kate is twenty-nine. If anything, it’s a testament to the generational gap. Back in the day, Kate might’ve been considered a spinster. Another interesting fact, Charles was twelve years older than Diana, while Will is a year younger than Kate. Is this a sign of changing times?
Kate is an independent, working girl with a degree—a very modern woman. She graduated with a degree in art history and worked as an accessories buyer for a clothing line. Diana, on the other hand, left school to marry Charles, having worked for a while as a kindergarten teacher.
If Will and Kate have a daughter, there is now talk of changing the line of succession, so that she would not be superseded by a younger brother. This would be another levelling of the male/female gender balance, even in royal circles.
And if that daughter grows up to become Queen (if we still have a monarchy), it might be as normal for her to marry a man that is more than a few years younger, than it always has been when it comes to the other way around.
It seems, in the words of Dylan himself, that the times they are indeed, a’ changing’!
