Dita Von Teese 3D dress

Print your own dress…

Everyone is talking about 3D printers and 3D scanning as the next big thing in digital technology, although 3D films were supposed to be the next big thing a few years ago but have only showed their potential recently with the amazing Life of Pi.

So far I hadn’t seen anything that blew my mind, but this dress for the fabulous Dita Von Teese is really something special.

Francis Bitonti Studio Collaborated with Michael Schmidt Studios and Shapeways to make a fully articulated 3D printed gown designed specifically for Dita Von Teese. The gown has nearly 3000 unique articulated joints and is adorned with over 12,000 Swarovski crystals.

Imagine if you could print out a fabulous dress for a party in the evening… Technology really is moving into science fiction, where what is possible is only limited by your imagination. For more on this dress click here.
