Girls just wanna have fun!

So it’s a miserable wet February morning. What shall I do… I know… I’ll clear out my bedside cupboards that are full of God knows what. So I lift everything out and dump it on the bed. Folded up are two sheets of A4 with tons of my writing. I start to read and from there on in it’s forget the bedside cab spring clean… this is soooo much more interesting. It’s my Magaluf ‘Diary’!

I’m instantly transported back to my two crazy weeks in Magaluf last August with my great friend Jan. Now the sun is shining and I’m on the beach……….

I was actually house sitting for a friend high in the mountains in a tiny village called Galilea. So perfect. I lived there for three years. But we had to drive to Magaluf and that in itself was taking our life in our hands at silly o’clock in the morning after dancing the night away.

Magaluf beach is actually very nice. Soft sand and hundreds of sun beds and thatched sunshades. You can sit where there’s great music blasting or find somewhere quieter. But the people… OMG!! They’re a different breed. The Essex girls are the best, and of course the Geordies. It’s as if they’ve all been cloned. Hair so straight you’ll get splinters should you dare make contact with it. Tons of make up that has more build up than the mould on stilton cheese. All parading around in their New Look/Primark bikinis, giggling and drinking too much and having the time of their lives. I suppose they didn’t see us as a threat. Big mistake girlies 😉

Now to the guys. OMG their bodies! Now I’m not fixated on body types, and big fit arms covered in Tattoos is so sexy. They all have those David Beckham ones. Yes, I’ll even watch the footie when such eye candy is dancing before my eyes.

It’s important to say that if you’re an older woman you have to be able to dress properly if you’re gonna mingle with the very young. We wore strappy tops skinny jeans and heeled sandals. Very expensive stuff as we wanted to look sexy, not sexy and cheap.

Jan has been there before so she says we have to find the ‘Strip’. I have a vision of a very down market Las Vegas. I needn’t have worried, Las Vegas has nothing on Magaluf.

Jan says she knows the best bar on the Strip. So at the age of 58 and 55 we’ve finally lost the plot and had the BEST fun ever!! Everyone is so friendly and guys were constantly in our face asking how old we were and saying it’s their fantasy to have an older woman.

Jan goes off to get the drinks at the next bar. She comes back drenched. She’s in a blind rage. The bar staff decided to turn a hose on the customers. Very wise. This is Magaluf honey not Portofino. We leave. Her hair looks deranged and I’m laughing so much it hurts.

Another bar, more dancing and laughter. Jan goes to the bar to get the drinks. They give you two for one everywhere. All watered down, for which we were later eternally grateful. Two Italians hit on us. Very young of course. Very smart. You can spot the non-Brits a mile off…. they aren’t wearing trainers. They buy us a drink. I don’t want them to I don’t fancy them. I will always be picky. But we dance and ‘mine’ is constantly trying to kiss me. Get off!!  We go to the loo and they follow us and wait outside. We were going to leave by the other door. They knew it. It’s the end of the night. Well it’s 4am so we get a kebab. It was to become our nightly ritual. Italians follow us and I say we’re going home.

The road up to Galilea is treacherous. The most amazing breathtaking views. Not at 4am. I fall asleep at the wheel and hit the crash barrier which saves us from a 25 thousand foot drop.

And that was the pattern for two glorious weeks.

Then I met the truly stunning Geordie… Lee, 6′ 2″ 35yr old ex footballer with the fittest body. Big muscled arms and those wonderful David Beckham tattoos. He was my fantasy in the flesh. Sex on legs as they say. Was he my bit of rough? Nah, he was a cardiologist.. I just love the Newcastle accent. As soon as I saw him I had to have him….and I did. He had a very cute mate with him so the four of us went back to Galilea. We all sat on the sofa on the terrace looking at the stars. The magic cottage in the mountains. Ahh the memories….

I’m so glad I wrote it all down. I’m going again this year………anyone wanna come??
