FEBRUARY FUN AND FROLICS

FEBRUARY FUN AND FROLICS really got under way on Tuesday night with another fun-filled party from our fabulous founder, Julia, without whom so many of us would be floundering in the flaccid flames of an unfulfilled fire.

Thanks to TBW’s third successful party, the furnace inside us is burning brightly once again as timid typists exchanged real instead of user names and greeted each other like long lost friends.  Such a joy to put a voice and face to a moment-in-time photograph!  The atmosphere becomes more relaxed and convivial with every event: the smiling faces, changing places leading on to sweet embraces.

Yet again we had the media in attendance, a researcher from Channel 4 and a journalist from The Independent, curious to know what makes us all tick.  The message – which we all got long ago – is still filtering through to the rest of society: Older Women like Younger Men who like Older Women!  Get it?  Happily, yes, most of us do… and the more often the better!

I hope we all realise what an elite club we belong to on TBW, how privileged we are, and how brave not to bow to the diktats of the bourgeoisie but to push the boundaries, lose the taboos, and do what we really want with our social lives.  Never mind party animals, we’re more like party anarchists!

Ladies, how many of your friends were sitting at home on Tuesday night in front of the tele wishing they had your chutzpah?  Guys, how many of your mates hanker after some mature allure but don’t have the balls to go and look for it?

Let’s all give Julia and ourselves a big round of applause for thumbing our noses at the critics and turning our fantasies into reality.  In this month of St. Valentine’s:

I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love.
