I will tell you the story of my first cougar date. A while ago, I bumped into this handsome guy while waiting for a friend in a café. He was in his late 30s. I was probably staring at him as I was just thinking how much he looks like a young George Clooney, when he walked towards my table. We started talking and he made me laugh. In the next few minutes, he was asking for my phone number. I was stunned: is he planning to ask me out? Is this gorgeous young stud willing to date me, a 53 year old woman? Is he nuts? I almost burst out laughing, but I decided to refrain myself and play the flirting game because he was so charming and it felt great to be courted by a young man. In the end, we did go out, and dated for a couple of months, until he had to move to New York with his job. As open-minded as I am, long distance relationships are not for me, but we keep in touch, and have long talks on the phone from time to time.
